I want to first off say I don’t do any body shaming. If you like the way you look, I don’t think it matters what you weigh, what you look like or what others think of you.
I do however think there’s nothing wrong with women wanting to lose some weight, for the right reasons and in a healthy way.
The tips in this post aren’t going to cause you to dramatically lose 20-50 pounds like I have done myself.
That much weight loss unfortunately takes a lot of hard work, if done the healthy way.
This post is more so for those that have a bridesmaid dress to fit into in the next few weeks, the pants you want to fit into better or for those that want to start getting your body into gear before you full fledged start working out.
It’s the preliminary lifestyle changes you wanna make and get used to before you make the huge jump and commitment to losing a ton of weight.
I will definitely make another post on how I dramatically lost 35 pounds.
1. The first thing you want to do is drink water.
Yes yes I know, you’ve heard it all before, but the reason it’s such common knowledge is because it works.
Now I dislike the taste of water, plus I learned adding a few simple ingredients to my water not only makes it taste better, but it speeds up metabolism.
I add a fresh piece of cut lemon and a few mint leaves into my water.
I can’t say how much water you should have, they say we need 8 cups a day, but I haven’t always manage to have that much I admit.
If your getting 2 to 4 cups a day, I think that’s fantastic, always strive for more, but I don’t think you absolutely HAVE to have 8 cups a day.
2. Eat small portions throughout the day.
Eating healthy of course.
I wouldn’t necessarily say breakfast is the most important meal of the day though.
I’m not a nutritionist, I am just sharing what I’ve learned for myself.
Some oatmeal and low fat yogurt with berries works great for me.
Throughout the day I’ll have a hard boiled egg for protein, some carrots, an apple and a banana.
Snacking on fruits is awesome because it doesn’t contain bad fat and will make you full.
I usually will have a salad or shake for lunch.
For diner, I eat meat, some veggies or salad and have some grain.
Now I made myself a rule, absolutely nothing to eat after diner, I’d even say if you really want to see changes cut out desert.
Reduce your sugar intake, it makes a world of difference.
If you must have desert, don’t eat anything after that, have tea or water that’s it.
I completely cut out cheese and bread and I noticed my body making a huge difference.
Eating slowly lets you get more full sooner.
Obviously for some dietary restrictions or based on medical conditions some people have a certain diet.
Again, I’m merely stating some food changes, portions and timing of what I east and how it changed my bloating and helped speed up my metabolism.
3. Go for a walk or run for a minimum of 20 minutes.
Even if your not super into running or even walking, just moving for that extended amount of time again, speeds up metabolism and will help burn fat.
Make sure to stretch regularly, it seems something small you can skip out on, but it really does make a huge difference by making you way less stiff next time you work out!
I covered the basics with water intake, what to add in water, a whole section on foods which is one of the most important in my opinion and of course the exercise part.
If you want to lose a small amount of weight, for the right reasons and fast then you must lose the idea you have to use diet pills or fast in order to see quick changes.
The few things I just mentioned are healthy alternatives to dieting or not eating, both ways in which I totally disagree with.
With minor changes to what you purchase at the grocery store and spending a bit more time outside or on a treadmill verses sitting on a couch, you can totally see the changes!
Again, this won’t dramatically cause huge changes for most people, some it can, but for most people like me it takes a lot more work.
This was simply a few tricks to start the process of losing weight whether it be to eventually lose a ton or just a bit for an occasion.
I do go over how you can lose a ton of weight in a short amount of time in an article, How I lost 25 pounds in 3 months!
